19Sept09 Second Annual All Corvette
Show
Our 2nd Annual
show....hum? What would it hold for us this year? Would we have a nice day? Would it rain like it did on our 1st
Annual show? Would we have a good turn out? Would it all come together in the end? Would everybody have a good
time? Will we be able to pull this off? The
answers to these and many more questions were running rampart in our minds.
Were we scared? Well......Y-E-S !!!!!!! This was only our 2nd show and we are still new
at it.
So....would we all like
the answers to these questions? Here goes
................
First, it held
many different tasks. From weekly meetings to long hours. Our volunteers met Friday at Frederick's and for some of us
it was a long day. We were there early to finalize last minute preparations and decisions on how we were going to set
up. Then we set up as much as we possibly could.
Second, the weather was just BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! We could not have asked for a better day. (I wonder if someone
ordered it?) Not a rain cloud in sight. Awe, what a relief. After last years rain out, this made us very
happy.
Third.... The turn out was
GREAT!!!! We had Beautiful Corvettes show up from all directions. What a WONDERUL sight to see. Rainbow of colors
, without the rain.
And YES we
all had a GREAT time. We had really good music by DJ Ralph Warzy of Tower City, PA. He just kept the tunes playing
and we even had people dancing!!! Now how often do you see dancing at a car show????
So, to wrap it all up, Yes we were able to pull it off.....IT WAS ONE FANTASTIC SHOW !!!!
We had fun, food, music and laughter. We had a bake sale
that was a success and a Chinese Auction that went over very well. (One of our members, who shall remain nameless, even won
the Pep Boys Corvette that for some unmentionable reason, she really wanted.) We did 50/50 drawing and sold chances
for a Corvette Canopy. We had many door prizes and handed out 10 trophies. All in all we had a great day !!!!!!!
