In
April 2007, Lee Amand, a member of another Corvette Club where he lived before moving to Lebanon, placed an ad in a local
Lebanon newspaper to find out if anyone was interested in starting a local Corvette Club.
The calls came in slow and we had our first gathering
in Lebanon on July 7th as we cruised to Annville for the Corvette Grill's Annual Car Show. This was the first
time the seven of us met and we just felt like we knew each other for a long time. We discussed the starting of
the club and decided that we were going to give this a try. Thus, 07/07/07 became our founding date.
We scheduled a meeting to be
held on July 15th at the Farmer's Wife Restaurant in Ono. At the meeting more members join at which time
we elected officers and decided on the name for our club…THE LEBANON AREA CORVETTE CLUB or LACC. A decision was
made that July 15th would be our anniversary date.
Frederick's Chevrolet of
Lebanon contacted Lee about becoming our sponsor and thus they became our sponsor.A club logo was decided on, we adopted Penny as our mascot
and our motto became "Save the Wave".
To date we have 71 members and many
friendships. We participate in shows, have picnics & meetings, and we LOVE to CRUISE around in our BEAUTIFUL CORVETTES.
On July 21, 2008,
we took our first club trophy. We have
come a long way since our first year and we are looking forward to our future.
